Here are five games to watch in Coastal Alabama this week:

BAKER (0-1) AT THEODORE (0-1)
Time/location: 7 p.m. Friday, C.A. Douglas Field
Last week: Baker lost at UMS-Wright 24-6; Theodore lost at Saraland 42-21.

The skinny: Class 7A, Region 1 opener for both teams. … Baker is coming off the season-opening loss at Class 5A UMS-Wright. Jaisean McMillan led the Hornets with 109 yards on 18 carries. His longest run went for 23 yards. Landon Lary scored Baker’s TD on a 1-yard run. T.J. Kirksey led the defense with 16 tackles and a sack. … Landon Hirtreiter led the Bobcats last week, connecting on 15-of-27 passes for 247 yards and 2 TDs. Kierstan Rogers rushed for 66 yards and a TD before being carried off the field in the second half with a scary injury. Coach Eric Collier said Monday that Rogers is OK but will be held out for precautionary reasons. Senior T.J. Richardson will get the start in his place. … Theodore defeated Baker 32-18 last year and has won three straight and four of the last five against the Hornets.
DAPHNE (1-0) AT DAVIDSON (0-0)
Time/location: 7 p.m. Thursday, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile
Last week: Daphne defeated Lee-Montgomery 26-19; Davidson lost to McGill-Toolen 22-0 in a game of no record.
On the air: None.
The skinny: Daphne’s first ever Class 7A, Region 1 football game. The Trojans are coming off a home win over Lee-Montgomery. Senior Veontai Williams scored the game-winning TD on an 80-yard run with 3:24 left. TCU QB commit Trent Battle threw for 164 yards and 3 TDs before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an injury. Battle is listed as probable for Thursday’s game. … Rick Cauley is entering his second year as Davidson’s head coach. The Warriors played a jamboree game against McGill-Toolen last week, losing 22-0. … Daphne and Davidson last played in 2017 with Daphne winning 3-0 at Ladd. The Trojans lead the overall series 9-7.
FAITH ACADEMY (1-0) AT WILLIAMSON (1-0)
Time/location: 7 p.m. Friday, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile
Last week: Faith Academy defeated Andalusia 10-9; Williamson defeated LeFlore 14-12 in overtime.
On the air: WJTV/UTV 44
The skinny: Faith won its 13th straight regular-season game last week at Andalusia. Jack French is 18-6 in his third season with the Rams. Prior to his arrival, Faith had won 16 total games in the previous six years. … Williamson edged LeFlore in overtime. Daniel Miller connected with Jeremy Williams to tie the game, then converted the game-winning 2-point conversion. Jahkobe Shaw gained 55 yards on 10 carries, including an 8-yard TD. Alabama LB commit Robert Woodyard and Christopher Kennedy each had a pair of sacks. … The Lions have won the last three games against Faith. The teams last met in 2017 with Williamson claiming a 28-13 win. … Dedrick Sumpter is looking for his fourth straight winning season at Williamson.
ST. PAUL’S (1-0) AT SPANISH FORT (0-1)
Time/location: 6 p.m. Friday, Toros Stadium, Spanish Fort
Last week: St. Paul’s defeated McAdory 31-7; Spanish Fort lost at Fairhope 45-34.
On the air: ESPN
The skinny: St. Paul’s and Spanish Fort renew their rivalry in front of a national TV audience. St. Paul’s beat the Toros 35-30 in 2019 when the teams were both members of Class 6A, Region 1. St. Paul’s returned to Class 5A this year. The Saints were impressive last week with junior RB Jaylen Sulton rushing for 130 yards and two TDs in his Saints’ debut. Bestor McFadden threw for 107 yards and a touchdown in his first start at QB. The St. Paul’s defense limited McAdory to just 134 yards of total offense. … Spanish Fort lost its opener for the fifth straight year. The Toros’ last opening day win came at D’Iberville, Miss., in 2015. In his first start last week, Brendon Byrd went 26-of-35 for 240 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for 67 yards and a score. Johnny Morris rushed for 69 yards and 2 TDs on 15 carries. The leading receivers were Jacob Godfrey (9-96) and Mario Montgomery (8-89, TD).
UMS-WRIGHT (1-0) AT MOBILE CHRISTIAN (0-0)
Time/location: 7 p.m. Friday, Lamar Harrison Field, Mobile
Last week: UMS-Wright defeated Baker 24-6; Mobile Christian did not play
On the air: Sports Talk 99.5 FM
The skinny: UMS made it 34 wins in a row Friday night, continuing the longest win streak in the state. Senior WR Colby Stafford caught two passes for 42 yards, including a 34-yard score, and also returned a kickoff 75 yards. The UMS defense intercepted a pair of passes in the red zone to turn away promising Baker drives. The UMS defense has allowed less than 10 points in 23 of its last 29 games. … Mobile Christian is playing its first game as a 4A school. Alabama LB commit Deontae Lawson returns to lead the defense. He’ll also play a major role on offense in multiple spots. DB/KR specialist Jason Brooks is committed to South Alabama, while WR Toler Keigley is committed to East Carolina. … UMS has won all three games against Mobile Christian – 34-0 in 1984, 37-7 in 2018 and 21-0 in 2019.
