A few reports had suggested that the Xbox Series X has overheating issues, making people wary of going with the Xbox. Although, a top Microsoft Exec has now dismissed these claims about their console.
Microsoft’s General Manager for Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, defended his consoles in response to a fan’s question on Twitter.
“The console will output system heat out of the exhaust, just as any other console will. Our engineering team confirmed the heat leaving the console is not significantly different than Xbox One X. This matches my experience at home quiet, fast & impressive power for the size.”

The question is also unique considering it discusses Series X’s performance when it comes to backwards compatibility. Nevertheless, Aaron’s response is loud and clear, which puts a lot into perspective.
Reports suggested that the Xbox Series X has overheating issues
The Series X overheating saga started when a certain publication made a series of claims that the consoles ran too hot. Even though there were concerns because the sources were authentic, all this was debunked soon enough. The individual sources put out their own responses, claiming that it was just a scenario where things were overstated by the publication and nothing more.
Xbox Series X’s cooling is a lot different from its Sony counterpart. It has a vapor chamber and a heatsink with a parallel cooling system. This allows the console to run at optimal temperatures with a vertical air-flow, which also makes it easier to pack everything into a compact box.
The PS5, on the other hand, has a bulkier design that allows more space for a larger heatsink and airflow. Both the consoles are engineering marvels in their own way.
All the claims regarding the heating issues of these consoles are to be taken with a grain of salt. Unless the users experience these issues first hand, these claims cannot hold true. In addition to this, these companies have spent a fortune developing these consoles. There is no way that they would release them with such persisting issues. This is food for thought for everyone, which will hopefully lay to rest the heating debate.
